Finding friends on websites like Facebook is similar to finding friends at school or work. You have to put some effort into looking for people who are interested in the same things as you or know the same people you do and work to create a connection.    Click the "Friends" link on the top of your home page and select "Find Friends."

   Search for friends from the contacts lists of your specific email or AIM accounts, or click "More Ways to Find Friends" to search based on your high school, college or work groups. When you find someone you know and wish to have on your friends list, click "Add to Friends" and once the person accepts the request you can see their name and thumbnail photo in your list.

   Find friends through other friends. Click through their lists of friends and add others to your own list. Once they accept your requests you can fully view their profiles and send them messages.
